As an area famous for it’s beaches, golf, restaurants and fun, this week saw the Myrtle Beach Area under ice. Area residents had a rare opportunity to enjoy sledding, sliding and beautiful frozen scenery. The beach was a wide expanse of winter wonderland. Visiting tourists enjoyed the novelty of the unexpected frozen landscape, knowing that the temperatures will quickly be pleasant again and all of this will be long gone. Some visitors from the northern part of the United States happily acknowledged that cold and frozen areas are much easier to handle when just here for a few days. This weekend temperatures will be back in the 60’s and most people can enjoy a nice walk along the sandy beach!
